Scientists working to make B Vitamins solution to polluted air

Researchers have been looking for ways to help humans fight off the effects of air pollutants, like PM2.5. PM2.5 is the most dangerous of pollutants and lodges itself into human lungs, leading to heart and lung complications. Researchers gave volunteers high doses of B vitamins during a 4-week period of exposure to PM2.5 dense air. The effects of PM2.5 were limited by 28 to 76 percent. "I think that B vitamins are a likely hope that we can potentially utilise as an individualised treatment to complement the policy regulations to minimise the impacts of air pollution," said Jia Zhong (Harvard School of Public Health)
