Science teacher uses steam to crush a large metal can

An interesting video has emerged of science teacher Jacob Strickling demonstrating the strength of air pressure.

The footage, shot on Wednesday in Sydney, Australia, shows how Strickling crushed a 20 litre metal can by creating a vacuum in it letting air pressure compress the can.

"An empty 20 litre metal can has 400ml of water added to it. The can is placed on a gas stove to boil the water," Strickling wrote online explaining the experiment.

"The steam fills the can, driving out all the air,"

"When the can is inverted and placed in water, the steam cools and condenses. This leaves a vacuum on the inside of the can," he added.

"Air pressure then is able to crush the can."
