After a quiet 2016, Italy’s Mount Etna volcano began a period of activity in late January, 2017. A particularly strong eruption was seen on the night of February 27. This nighttime footage shows lava spewing from the mountain.The eruptions didn’t pose any danger to nearby communities according to reports, but could be seen from Catania and Taormina.
