'Ring of fire' solar eclipse to be visible in South America, Africa

As the moon passes the sun, a solar eclipse will be visible in the southern hemisphere early Sunday morning. The eclipse will only be visible in parts of South America and Africa. The eclipse will begin in Chile before making its way to Argentina's Patagonia region, the Atlantic Ocean and eventually in Angola. The eclipse will end near the border of Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo at sunset. This is the very first eclipse of 2017, with a second one to be visible in the United States come August 21.
