Apollo 11 spacecraft to embark on another mission

The Apollo 11 space module, the very first spacecraft that carried U.S. astronauts to the moon in 1969, is coming back! You can now tour the entire country via the Apollo 11 on the upcoming tour "Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission." In honor of the historic voyage that took place 50 years ago, the Smithsonian Institution Travelling Exhibition Service is launching the tour. The spacecraft previously embarked on a nation-wide tour in the early 1970's. Since then, the iconic capsule has been on display for nearly 40 years at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
