United and American both started selling their 'Basic Economy' seats yesterday
  • 7 years ago
Tuesday was a big day for United and American Airlines, with both of them putting their new "Basic Economy" options up for sale. The new way to fly is supposed to save travelers money when flying but comes with certain restrictions, such as inability to pick your seat and no access to the overhead bin. As of right now, the option is only available for certain flights for both airlines but have said that they plan to roll out more options soon. American Airlines will start flying the basic economy on March 1, while United will start flying with them on April 18.
