KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s estranged elder half-brother, Kim Jong Nam, was killed in Malaysia on Monday.

Kim Jong Nam was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Macau on Monday morning when he was reportedly poisoned by two women with a needle at the airport, South Korean newspaper Chosun reported. The two women then fled in a taxi and remain at large.

Kim Jong Nam felt dizzy afterward and asked for help at the airport counter. He was taken to the hospital but died in an ambulance shortly afterwards.

Kim Jong Nam and Kim Jong Un are both sons of former North Korean leader Kim Jong Il, but had different mothers. It has been reported in the past that Kim Jong Un felt threatened by his elder brother and had been planning to assassinate him.
