UK government rejects online petition to stop Trump visit

The British government formally rejected a petition demanding that President Trump's visit to the UK be canceled. In response to the petition, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said the government will welcome Trump during his time in the UK. "HM Government believes the President of the United States should be extended the full courtesy of a State Visit. We look forward to welcoming President Trump once dates and arrangements are finalised," the statement said. More than 1.85 million peopled signed a petition calling on the British government to cancel Trump's visit. Petitions in the UK require at least 100,000 signatures to be considered by the Parliament.
