Facebook adds Community Help feature to help people in crisis
  • 7 years ago
Facebook’s Safety Check feature has evolve since its inaugural use during the 2011 tsunami and earthquake in Japan. Today, Facebook adds a new feature to Safety Check called Community Help. The social giant now lets you share food, transportation, and shelter, instead of sending thoughts and prayers to crisis victims. “We want to create a space on Facebook…that connects communities in the aftermath of a crisis and helps people feel safe faster, recover, and rebuild” says Facebook Safety Check product designer Preethi Chetan.
