Tom Hardy is Reportedly Losing Money on 'Taboo'

Tom Hardy’s new show Taboo might be getting rave reviews… but it’s struggling to recoup money.

According to new reports, the show is almost 2 and a half million dollars shy of breaking even. It had a reported almost-13 million dollar budget and Hardy’s production company Thirty Three and a Third has had to dip into its reserve, plunging it from 2 and a half million in 2015 to 862,000 a year later.

A source admitted that Tom is a big spender, but his career is riding high so he isn’t short of offers so he can afford the hit.

Taboo is an eight-part period drama set predominately in the early 19th century London that chronicles James Delaney – played by Tom – who returns to town following a 10 year stay in Africa.

The series is produced by Ridley Scott and was created by Tom and his father Edward.

And even though it’s losing money, we can only imagine Tom is more concerned with bringing his art to the screen.
