The 2017 F1 season is almost upon us and we simply cannot wait for the lights to go green in Melbourne for the opening Australian Grand Prix round!

Check out these 10 BIG reasons why this year's world championship is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet!

Chase Carey is F1's new CEO, replacing Bernie Ecclestone, a major change at the top that is set to take the sport into a new era, with brand new events, exciting rules and increased spectacle.

In the meantime, F1 will look very different in 2017 thanks to changes to the technical regulations that should ensure the cars lap faster and look more aggressive.

World champions Mercedes will welcome Valtteri Bottas to drive alongside Lewis Hamilton after he was picked to replace the retired Nico Rosberg.

The Finn isn't the only high profile team change for 2017 - Nico Hulkenberg heads to Renault, Kevin Magnussen joins Haas, Pascal Wehrlein will race at Sauber and Esteban Ocon gets a full season with Force India.

Meanwhile, Stoffel Vandoorne joins Fernando Alonso at McLaren, while Lance Stroll gets his F1 debut at Williams.

Throw in a bit of Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo at Red Bull and Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian VettelI leading Ferrari's charge, then if that isn't enough to get just a little excited about before the start of the season, we don't know what is...
