A hilarious video has emerged of a teenager crashing into a Christmas tree while taking his first ride on his new hoverboard.

The video, shot in Courtenay, BC, Canada last month, shows the 13-year-old losing his balance and slamming into the family tree.

The boy can be heard saying "how do I stop?" before being inevitably crushed under the tree.
