A new McDonald's has opened up in the ground floor of a Vatican-owned building, despite grievances from cardinals and local residents. According to La Repubblica, the Vatican will will receive 30,000 euros ($31,158) monthly and the restaurant will be open to customers from 6:30 a.m.-11 p.m., seven days a week. Both cardinals and residents call the opening of the McDonald's a "perversion of the neighborhood." "It [is] far from the Roman culinary tradition" and "[does] not offer guarantees for the health of consumers"
