Twitter's head executive in China quits after 8 months

Twitter's head executive and managing director Kathy Chen is leaving the firm after only eight months of being on the job. Chen ironically announced her exit on Twitter, noting "it's the right time" for her to leave the company. Chen's role was to pitch Twitter to advertisers in China and Taiwan. Before Chen joined Twitter, she worked as an engineer in the People's Liberation Army, sparking concern from political activists. While Twitter is accessible in Hong Kong and Taiwan, the social media firm is blocked in mainland China.
