Former Argentine president indicted on corruption

Former Argentine President Cristina Fernandez was indicted on Tuesday on charges of directing a corruption scheme. Federal Judge Julian Ercolini charged Fernandez and two of her former aids for trying to steal money intended for public road projects from 2003 to 2015. The former planning minister, public works secretary, and owner of the construction company that allegedly benefited from the scheme were also indicted. Fernandez denied the charges and said the current president, Mauricio Macri, manipulated the judicial system to persecute her.
