Donald Trump supporters gathered outside his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida on Thursday night (31 March) after the former president was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury.
Many of those gathered were seen waving pro-Trump flags and heard singing patriotic songs.
Mr Trump on Thursday became the first former president to face a criminal charge, jolting his bid to retake the White House next year.
While the charges remained under seal, the investigation centred on payments made during the 2016 presidential campaign to silence claims of an extramarital sexual encounter.
