Rani Mukerji: 'I learned Krav Maga for 'Mardaani' as the action had to be believable'

Bong beauty Rani Mukerji, who will be next seen playing a Crime Branch cop named Shivani Shivaji Roy in upcoming YRF flick Mardaani, will be seen performing some high-octane action sequences in the film and the actress recently revealed at the film anthem launch event that she had learned Krav Maga for the film. Rani said, ''For the film action sequences, I had to learn Krav Maga as we wanted the action to be quite believable and not larger-than-life with people flying across the room at a punch. Whenever viewers see a man fighting on the screen, they find it mind-blowing but when an actress does the same, people find it weak. Krav Maga is a martial art, which specifically trains a person to tackle a person bigger in size, which made it an ideal martial art form to learn for the film.'' Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, Mardaani revolves around Crime Branch officer Shivani Roy, who sets out to crack a sex trade racket. The film is slated to release on August 22.
