Trump fires adviser's son for spreading fake news
  • 7 years ago
President-elect Donald Trump has fired Michael Flynn Jr. from his transition team after spreading online conspiracy theories on Twitter. Flynn Jr. is the son of Trump's pick for national security adviser Gen. Michael Flynn. According to a spokesman, the younger Flynn was helping his father with administration and scheduling work in the transition process. The younger Flynn is responsible for spreading fake news on Twitter, such as "Pizzagate," which alleged a restaurant was running a sex trafficking ring involving Hillary Clinton. The conspiracy then incited a shooting at the restaurant earlier this week. The elder Flynn has also reportedly spread false stories. A week before the election, he encouraged rumors involving Clinton and child sex crimes.
