The parking boot could soon give way to the windshield blocker

A new device called "The Barnacle" may soon replace the parking boot and it will make parking illegally much more annoying. Developed by Ideas That Stick, The Barnacle suctions to a car's windshield and cannot be removed without first paying the fine over the phone to get the release code. The Barnacle is a smaller, more lightweight design compared to a parking boot, allowing police officers to carry a larger quantity more easily. The devices are currently being tested in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Allentown, Pennsylvania and if tests are successful, will be implemented in more cities throughout the US.
