President-elect Donald Trump plans to name investor and former Goldman Sachs executive Steven Mnuchin as treasury secretary. Mnuchin, who donated to democrats in the past, joined Trump's campaign in May as finance chairman. Mnuchin previously worked at Goldman Sachs, before heading his own private-equity fund. As treasury secretary, among Mnuchin’s top goals would be implementing Trump’s proposed tax plan through Congress. Trump has previously said he intends to cuts the corporate tax rate to 15 percent and streamline individual tax rates into three brackets.
