Cavaliers forward Kevin Love set an NBA record for points in a first quarter by scoring 34 on Wednesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. Love, who set a team record for points in a period, made 11 of 14 field goal attempts, including 8 of 10 on 3-pointers. He made his first six shots, including five 3-pointers. Cleveland ended up with a 137-125 win against Portland, a game that featured both teams shooting more than 50 percent.
