Jill Stein Is Trying To Raise $2M For An Election Recount In 3 Swing States

The Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein has launched an online campaign to try and raise $2 million for an election recount in the key swing states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
Jill Stein, the Green Party’s nominee for president in the 2016 election, is hoping to raise enough money for a recount of votes in three important swing states.
A fundraising page on Jill Stein’s website states, “The Stein/Baraka Green Party Campaign is launching an effort to ensure the integrity of our elections. With your help, [we] are raising money to demand recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania-- three states where the data suggests a significant need to verify machine-counted vote totals.”
According to a report by The Guardian, “Stein said she was acting due to ‘compelling evidence of voting anomalies’ and that data analysis had indicated ‘significant discrepancies in vote totals.’”
Her comments echo a group of experts who reportedly approached the Clinton team privately about data indicating potential voting anomalies in those three states.
A piece by New York Magazine states, “The academics presented findings showing that in Wisconsin, Clinton received 7 percent fewer votes in counties that relied on electronic-voting machines compared with counties that used optical scanners and paper ballots.”
Stein’s campaign has a goal of reaching at least $2 million by Friday evening.
