Cartoon Network UK - Continuity and Adverts - Christmas 2000 (5)

Angela Anaconda mercifully ends, right before we’re told a much better show, Courage the Cowardly Dog, is coming up next, as we move into the tape’s final ad break.

Following this is a promo for Cartoon Network’s Christmas morning line-up, in which a boy with an excessively high-pitched voice begs Santa for his favourite shows, which are pretty good, save for Angela Anaconda. (I swear, she was rampant on this channel at one point.) Santa grants his wish, but not without calling him a twerp, which is probably deserved.

Then it’s an advert for CNN, where we’re treated with typical shots of violence, destruction and people arguing, none of which children will understand. I guess this was intended for parents watching with their kids, although I can tell you my parents were never watching with me at gone seven in the morning.

After that is a message from the women of Cartoon Network, featuring probably the worst impersonation of Daphne in the history of animation. Grey DeLisle, she ain’t. Anyway, it’s all to promote “The Cartoon Network Effect”, you see, which probably means the channel increases your ability to become attractive to the ladies, or something.

A small Christmas bumper leads us into Courage the Cowardly Dog, which is an awesome show, and I implore you to go watch it right now. I left the intro in, of course, because I like you a lot. The tape ends halfway into this episode, so that’s all from this one. I’ll see you when we get to the next tape…
