Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore has repeatedly spoken out against the presidential election outcome. On Saturday, in a widely publicized stunt in Manhattan, he even visited Trump Tower in an effort to meet the president-elect and ask him to "step aside."
A video posted on his Facebook page shows him walking into the building and trying to take the elevator to Trump's residence. As expected, he was denied access by security but he did end up leaving a note, which said, "Mr. Trump, I’m here. I want to talk to you. Michael Moore."
While he was there, a large crowd gathered around him and outside the Trump Tower, Moore told reporters that he wants the president-elect to be "a gracious man and step aside and let the person who won the popular vote take over the Oval Office. That's what I intend to tell him. If he's a gentleman, that's what he'll do."
Notably, Michael Moore is one of the few who predicted Trump’s stunning victory over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential race. However, during a recent interview on MSNBC's Morning Joe, the filmmaker also suggested that the businessman would likely not serve a full term.
Moore said, “Here’s what is going to happen and why we’re not going to suffer through four years of Donald J. Trump because he has no ideology, except the ideology of Donald J. Trump and when you have a narcissist like that…he will, maybe unintentionally, break laws.”
