Trump Taps Running Mate Mike Pence To Take Over Transition Team

Donald Trump’s transition team will now reportedly be led by Vice President-elect Mike Pence

The incoming Republican administration has a new leader to guide the onboarding process into the White House, reports the New York Times.
According to the news outlet, “Vice President-elect Mike Pence will take over the job of leading Donald J. Trump’s transition effort, taking the helm from Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey.”
However, Christie will reportedly still be an important member of the team along with other Trump loyalists including Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, Dr. Ben Carson, among others.
Trump is said to have chosen Pence for his extensive political contacts in Washington, D.C.
However, some have speculated that the move could be a reflection of Christie’s continuing problems with the New Jersey Bridgegate scandal or, as CNBC notes, because Trump was “...displeased with the governor for not standing with him during tumultuous moments of the campaign.”
