MULTAN, PAKISTAN — A man was killed and at least 12 people were injured when a ride fell apart at an amusement park on September 15 in the Punjab region.
The accident occurred on a swing ride at Jinnah Park. The ride can hold two rows of people.
Video posted by Samma TV appears to show the ride full of people.
As the riders were spinning around, it appears that a seatbelt malfunction caused one male rider to be thrown from his seat.
In the video, he is seen flying from his seat, as he lands on the hard concrete directly in front of a ride operator.
The injured were transported to a nearby hospital, where the man later succumbed to his injuries.
Police arrested the contractor as well as the ride operator.
