At the height of the anti-colonial struggles of the 60s and 70s, leaders from Africa, Asia, and Latin America joined forces under one bloc - the Non-Aligned Movement.
It was home to some of the Global South's most radical countries and leaders. The movement fiercely opposed apartheid governments, supported diverse guerrilla movements, and stood up to imperialist wars around the globe.
