Trump Campaign's NY Co-Chair On Khizr Khan: He 'Doesn't Deserve' Gold Star Title

Carl Paladino, co-chair of Donald Trump’s New York campaign, stated on a radio show that Khizr Khan ‘doesn’t deserve’ the Gold Star parent title.

A senior member of Donald Trump’s campaign has made some controversial comments about Khizr Khan, father of a slain Army captain, notes The Daily Beast.

BuzzFeed News is reporting that Carl Paladino, co-chair of the Republican nominee’s New York operations, was on 'Imus in the Morning' when he is quoted as saying about Khan, “I don’t care if he’s a Gold Star parent. He certainly doesn’t deserve that title…”

He goes on to tell host Connell McShane that “if he’s as anti-American as he’s illustrated in his speeches and in his discussion...if he’s a member of the Muslim Brotherhood or supporting, you know, the ISIS-type of attitude against America, there’s no reason for Donald Trump to have to honor this man.”

Khan gained public’s attention during his speech at the Democratic National Convention when he criticized Trump and offered to lend him the copy of his pocket sized Constitution.

The Republican presidential candidate has not yet responded to Paladino’s comments.
