Over 5 lakh residents of Delhi are suffering from a common problem - lack of toilets. But, it is not the only reason behind open defecation as lack of maintenance, abrupt timings have also forced to residents to avoid going to toilets. The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), which has been assigned with the task of making Delhi free from open defecation, has conducted a survey and found there are 259 open defecation spots in Delhi. This means, Delhi requires 24036 toilet seats across 70 assembly constituencies and DUSIB has proposed 17846 seats before next March 2017.
