Now, Trees are being cloned to check global warming

These climbers in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains are on a mission- to clone one of the world's oldest and largest trees. They are collecting young branches to clone this Giant Sequoia. The expedition was organised by the Archangel Ancient Tree Archive. The group believes that planting forests of cloned champion trees will help combat global warming. Giant Sequoias can grow up to 300 feet high and 25 feet wide hence ideal for storing carbon. They can survive wildfires, droughts and disease, they can live up to 3000 years. But sceptics question whether ancient trees are genetically superior and cool the warming planet.
