On Sunday, a woman taking a walk through her recently acquired Simi Valley abode discovered something no new homeowner wants to see. The previous occupant, 75-year-old Mary Karacas, had reportedly left a dead body on the bed.

Police were called and their investigation quickly led them to Karacas.
Authorities phoned the elderly woman and asked her to meet them at her former home, according to FOX News.
Karacas did as requested and, when questioned, reportedly admitted to shooting Salvatore Orefice, the 84-year-old victim.
She also revealed the two were dating, and the shot was allegedly fired in the midst of an argument.
Karacas was detained soon after on suspicion to commit murder, notes the Los Angeles Times.
