On Monday, police in West Yorkshire, England were called to a local Sainsbury's grocery store to help an elderly woman who was becoming increasingly confused and agitated.
Authorities learned she was suffering from dementia, and after she’d picked out her groceries and some flowers she, “…didn't know what to do next.”
Staff at Sainsbury's let the woman take her selections free of charge, as she’d left her wallet at home.
Then, an officer drove the woman to her house, holding her hand all the way.
Once she was home, he helped put the groceries away and placed the flowers in the window.
According to the West Yorkshire Police department, it answers dementia-related calls on a daily basis, and does what it can to help, including searching for family members and calling social services.
