India Blocks Hundreds of Websites In Pornography | Check Out The Reason
Say No to Porn Sites! Internet service providers have blocked porn sites in India. The bans include adult websites, dating sites and porn blogs. Total 857 porn sites have been banned in the country. As per reports, the bans were made under " Rule 12" - a part of the country's "IT Act" that gives the government the power to force ISPs to block certain sites. Free and open access to porn websites has been brought under check. The aim was to prevent pornography becoming a social nuisance. Director Ram Goal Verma said that any govt which owned up to banning porn, would lose the next election. Well, if the govt has actually blocked the porn sites, this move would contradict a recent supreme court observation that it will not interfere with adults who want to watch porn in their rooms.
