A father in Colorado was charged with child abuse after a Wednesday argument with his daughter took a very dangerous turn, reports KRDO.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, in the midst of the heated exchange, Robert Williams, 38, pulled a firearm on the child, notes KDVR.
He then allegedly told the girl to grab a gun from elsewhere in the home so she and he could "duel."
Once both were armed, the fight got physical, and the father’s weapon went off.
The daughter fired a shot back, according to the Denver Post.
Both escaped the bullets, and, despite Williams’ attempts to keep the family in the house, his wife was able to grab the children and get them to a neighbor’s home.
In addition to child abuse, the father was charged with prohibited use of a weapon and felony menacing.
