Dramatic footage has emerged from Colorado, USA of a kayaker rescuing a colleague after she got "pinned between a log and rocks" in the Cache La Poudre River.

The video, filmed on May 9, shows the brave kayaker stopping his boat near the shore of the fast moving rapids and throwing a rope to the stricken extreme sports enthusiast.

He eventually manages to free her but the rapids take her further down the river as soon as the rocks and log are no longer a problem, showing just how powerful the water flow was.
