Often called the city of talent, Kolkata has always given the best to the world of music. The first one to show her talent and win Judge Gurus' heart is Pooja. She rocks the stage by 'Jhoom Baba'. The next contestants are the Last Minute, a group of 16 year old divas. Their impressive chorus performance on 'Yaaron Dosti' made it in the very first minute. Indrani, a computer science student and a guitar lover, amazes everyone by her acoustic version of 'Udi'. Sanjay Leela Bhansali got touched by her. Then comes the Pancham Group and present their band version of 'Rubaru'. Then a lot of other bands also make it to the next round. Then it's the turn of Kashish Group who have a lot of inner conflicts, but somehow manage to make it to the next round. Full of flat vocals and yelling skills, comes Dipankar, who fails to impress by his singing, but entertains by his comical attitude. Tushar Arjun's performance makes him earn a comparison to his states fame Zubin Garg. Then its Sampriti Ghosh, full of life and energy she starts performing on 'Sajna Ve Sajna', but unfortunately couldn't make it to the next level. After so many rejections, a good singer is what all awaited. Then come Shovon Ganguly & Mohan Haldar, who by their knowledge of music and singing skills, leave a mark on X Factor's stage. Kolkata again proved to be full of singing stars. The next step is back to Mumbai where these selected contestants will perform without the music track.

A singing show with a unique format that gives everyone a chance to showcase their talent. Open to all citizens of India over the age of 16, the auditions will be divided into 3 categories, viz. 16-25 years, 25 & above and individual groups. Participants that make through the final selection will then be divided into three groups with each group headed by a mentor. Of this lot, the top 12 will be selected to participate in the Galas and prove their mettle to the entire nation

As one of the judges for X FACTOR INDIA' Sanjay has vowed to pick only the best.
