San Francisco approves fully paid parental leave

San Francisco became the first U.S. city to approve six weeks of fully paid parental leave The law permits a six-week leave for fathers and mothers working for companies with 20 or more employees almost doubling the pay they are now eligible to gain under California law The policy, effective in 2017, says employers must pay 45 percent of wages for up to six weeks The remaining 55 percent comes from a worker-funded state disability program
