61-year-old Om Bassem broke gender stereotypes by choosing a profession that is male dominated. She is a plumber and her skills have made her popular in Cairo. She started working after divorce and she wanted to do a job that involved less working hours, getting money on a daily basis and most importantly not working for anyone else. She started by fixing plumbing in her friends' house but as word of her skill spread, demand for this female plumber also increased.
