The NOAA's Okeanos Explorer mission recently caught a glimpse of a shark deep underwater off the coast of Hawaii.

The encounter came about during the second dive made by the Deep Discoverer remotely operated vehicle on February 28th, which filmed the shark on video for a few brief seconds.

In the video, the unidentified shark swims through a submarine canyon on the northern side of the French Frigate Shoals.

Quickly, however, the shark changes course and heads in the direction of the camera before ultimately ducking down and swimming away.
