The Israel Antiquities Authority is reporting that hiker Laurie Rimon has turned in a rare gold coin dated to around 107 CE after finding it while hiking in eastern Galilee; the only other known piece like it is housed in the British Museum in London.

Coins can last for thousands of years which is what one hiker in Israel has learned after making a rare and historic discovery.
The Israel Antiquities Authority, or IAA, is reporting that Laurie Rimon was with a group exploring an archaeological area in eastern Galilee when she spotted a gold coin in the grass.
The agency was called, and the object was handed over to an official who arrived on scene.
