A lost dog was recently saved from a busy highway in Massachusetts.

Finding yourself seemingly stranded in the middle of traffic can be nerve wracking. And it's probably worse if you're a dog.

One such canine was saved from a busy highway in Massachusetts on the afternoon of February 10.

The German shepherd named Lexi was seen walking across all three lanes of Route 495 when the state police in Andover got the call.

Troopers Malachy Higgins and Dana Atkinson spotted Lexi and tried to move her out of the traffic towards an off ramp, but the canine had other plans and ran back onto the highway.

The troopers then shut down all three lanes and lured her into a police cruiser using a granola bar.
