Barack Obama 'wants to be a kind of Ronald Reagan figure'

Distinguished American journalist and author John Rick MacArthur is the president of Harper's Magazine. He gives us his assessment of US President Barack Obama's seventh and final State of the Union address.
John Rick MacArthur also gives us his point of view on Barack Obama's legacy. He says Obama "failed to heal the racial divisions that his election, symbolically, was supposed to cure". He adds that the US president could have done more to build bridges with the Republican opposition - something Obama himself acknowledged in his speech.
