LFW Nikhil Thampi Brings In Stylish `Cruise 2013` Collections
  • 8 years ago
Nishka Lulla's collection called "Boho-Chic-Traveller" last season won her many accolades. This season with her Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013 line called "Yarn" the designer revealed the many layers that fashion goes through, on the journey of life in a multi-faceted manner. With innovative tea stained textures as her base, Nishka added cute dandelion inspired embellishments, played creatively with transparent as well as opaque fabrics along with solids. This created one of the most eclectic moods seen on the ramp this season.
Using organza, muslin and crêpe as the base, the shapes were loose and deconstructed with comfort being the key word. The grandfather trousers, the calf length maxi with mesh beehive petticoat and long sombre dresses with basic buttons, recreated a very retro look. Keeping the lengths to just midi or maxi for the dresses and the silhouettes fluid for the trousers and oversized shirts and jackets; Nishka offered easy care clothes. The colours were restricted to soft flesh tones with organic blue, ecru and beige added to the neutrals.
With simple silhouettes and marked Indian accents, Nishka Lulla presented a comfortable line of timeless wear for women on the move.
