Surya Namaskar is also called Sun Salutation and is a good form of yoga pose which is good for maintaining a balance in the body.

Meaning :

Surya means Sun and namaskar means salutation . So Surya Namaskar means Sun Salutation .

Technique :

let us see how to perform Surya Namaskar

Stand keeping the feet close to each other and face the sun.
Fold hands and keep them close to your chest.
Raise the arms above the head and close the palms together such that the arms are on the sides of the ears.
bend back and make an arch with the hands and feet .
The palms are on the sides of the legs so bend forward and breathe out with the knees bent and the head as straight as you can.
Keep the breath under control and then bring the toes, knees and the chest down along the forehead.
Now lay the palms on the ground and bend your elbows a little.
The whole body is also near the ground and the face looks downwards.
The hips are held high and the waist is brought down with the upper torso being forced to go up .
The arms are straight.
Now breathe in and then raise the hips high and keep the palms not the ground .
look at the belly button and breathe out.
Now keep the palms on the floor and bring the raised hips down.
Stretch the right leg behind and keep the left leg in a crouching position.
look upwards and bring the entire body to balance on the toes.
Bending forward, keep both the palms on the sides of the legs. Breathe out.
hold the palms together and raise the arm above your head and touch the ears.
bending from the back you can form an arch from the hands till the feet.
Stretching the abdomen stand with feet close to each other and fold hands and bring them closer to the chest.
