Hero cop jumps onto moving semi-truck to end police chase

NORFOLK, NEBRASKA — A 12-mile police pursuit of a semi-truck along Highway 81 in Madison County, Nebraska ended when a brave sergeant jumped onto the moving vehicle. The odd thing about the chase was that the trucker wasn't trying to evade police, the driver was actually having a diabetic episode.
Sergeant Volk, of Madison County Sheriff's Department, spotted the driver slumped over the wheel. The truck was approaching a populated area and the sergeant knew that now was the time to take action.
"This was just a unique circumstance," Volk told WOWT 6 News, "We needed to get that big rig."
The video shows Volk running across the highway and leaping onto the moving truck. He then maneuvered himself half-way into the cab in order guide the truck to the shoulder and bring it to a stop.
It turns out that the driver wasn't even aware he was a diabetic. He was given a dose of glucose and rushed to a hospital.
