Man in his sixties rescued from ice hole in China

A man in his 60s was saved by fire fighters in China after he fell into an ice hole on a reservoir while ice-skating.

The dramatic video, filmed in Hebei Province on Friday, shows a rescuer crawling across the ice towards the old man with a safety rope and throwing it to him from a few metres away to avoid extending the hole, before his colleagues on the bank pull both of them back to safety.

According to local media, the man was immediately sent to a local hospital without serious injuries.
