Argentina: Menem Sentenced to Prison Term on Corruption Charges

Former Argentine president Carlos Menem was sentenced yesterday to a four year, six month prison term on corruption charges. Menem, who oversaw neoliberal reforms in the late 1980s and early 1990s, was charged with disributing funds allocated for intelligence activity among his ministers. He had previously been found guilty of running a weapons contraband scheme. teleSUR
