Rutland Boughton (1878-1960) is one of the most obscured figures of the British musical renaissance. Enjoying an initial success after his opera The Immortal Hour, he came to be one of the leading figures in the musical landscape until he pledged support for the Miners Lockout in 1926, becoming a persona non grata. His Third Symphony was his first abstract symphony; its pages are filled with memorable melodies and imbued with a full-fledged romantic spirit that is distinguished by a sound British idiom.
Rutland Boughton (1878-1960) es una de las figuras más desconocidas del renacimiento musical británico. Habiendo experimentado un éxito inicial con su ópera The Immortal Hour, llegó a ser una de las principales figuras de la música hasta que apoyó la Huelga General de 1926, convirtiéndose en persona non gata.
