Donald Trump hosts Saturday Night Live, gives himself two thumbs up

NEW YORK CITY — Donald Trump, the front-running Republican presidential candidate and daddy-made billionaire, hosted Saturday Night Live on Saturday despite protests from several advocacy groups, in a painful reminder of how far the once great comedy show has fallen.

With Trump hosting the show for the second time, SNL had its highest ratings since 2012, beating the season's previous high with Miley Cyrus and guest Hillary Clinton. DeportRacism.com offered $5000 to anyone who disrupted Trump, but became the butt of the joke when SNL scripted Larry David's 'you're a racist' bit during the end of Trump's opening monologue.

Donald then spoofed himself in a sketch that imagined what life would be like in a Trump Oval Office in 2016, followed by a boring sketch where Trump tweeted insults at the SNL cast, followed by a film of a hot mess parody of Drake's 'Hotline Bling' music video.

Saturday Night Live used to be known for its great satire and stinging mockery of public figures decades ago, but it elected to play softball with Donald instead in a true testament to how much the show has sold out since then.
