Chile: Trapped Miners Suing Former Lawyers
  • 8 years ago
Nine of the 33 Chilean miners who were trapped in a mine for 69 days and whose televised rescue captivated audiences worldwide are now suing their former lawyers. The miners charged that the lawyers cheated them and mishandled the rights to their story, which has been made into a motion picture starring Antonio Banderas. The plaintiffs charge that they were led to believe they would be in a charge of a corporation that would handle their story, but were duped into signing a contract giving such rights to their lawyers. teleSUR
